    Choosing a Hunting Backpack

Kings’ camo backpacks are available in a variety of sizes and patterns. We use lightweight, durable fabrics like ripstop nylon that can handle frequent trips to the woods. Bag designs remain simple and subtle to compliment the camouflage. Kings has backpacks with waist belts for supporting heavy loads along with ones with hydration bladders for longer days in the field.

    Frequently Asked Questions About Backpacks

What size hunting backpack do you need?

A smaller backpack (under 3,000 cubic inches) is suitable for a day trip. The length of time you plan to stay in the field and the season will dictate the size of the backpack you'll need. If you’re backpack camping or planning to pack out a load of meat, bring a bag that has plenty of storage and/or has a frame strong enough to carry the weight.

How should you pack your backpack?

Place your backpack flat on the ground facing up. You’ll want to pack the bottom of the pack with midweight items like clothes or a sleeping bag. The middle back (the section closest to your back) should have the heaviest items like a spotting scope and hydration bladder. The top and front of the pack is where everything light should live — small items that you need easy access to. Packing in this manner provides you with an optimal center of gravity and increased comfort.

Do you need a backpack as a hunter?

Yes. Hunters need to be prepared for a variety of situations. Weather, injury, all-day pursuits, and successful hunts require a lot of gear. Carrying all that without a pack isn’t possible. Bring the essentials in a hunting backpack and you’ll be prepared to properly take care of yourself during a long day or to handle a downed animal.
